The Cinco Senores Barricade has been a bit of a bone of contention, as have many things in Oaxaca. When the original leadership of APPO was dissolved, different tensions came into play between various factions of the Assembly.

The members of Cinco Senores, somewhat autonomously, established the barricade as a defense of the University in the event of a full assault against the Radio and the central organizing point for APPO.

These interviews were shot just days before the barricade was finally removed by PFP troops on November 29th. The whereabouts of the speakers or what happened to them in the final struggle and aftermath of the end of November is still unknown.

Although the barricade has been removed, it is believed that its supporters and much of the other membership of APPO is still around Oaxaca, in hiding, and regrouping for their next actions. It remains to be seen whether the conflict has come to a close, or simply moved on to a new phase.
